Hello! I was wondering if someone can help me understand some of the questions on the Frames Of Reference and Occupation Based Models quiz.

Question #1
There is a question about an adolescent admited to an acute facility after several violent episodes toward peers and the goal is to improve emotional expression using the psychodynamic FOR. The answer is to participate in a group rock song using I statements. My questions is isn’t not safe for the adolescent to be around peers or participating in a group since he is violent?

Question #2
This question is about gathering information it says what the clients enjoys, where he lives, work. and how many hours he works and that he has slurs speech and fatigues easily. It says that the model of practice is PEOP and I understand it but also think it could be MOHO, because what he enjoys could be (motivation/person), where he lives, work and how many hours (habituation/environment) and slurs and fatigue (performance). My questions is how can I differentiate them in this question?

I had this question on one of my practice questions. The answer is C. But I am confused why it would not be answer D, because of the behavioral problems the client has displayed.

59. A child with behavioral problems has difficulty
with peer interactions. The OT’s intervention
plan is MOST likely based on which
approach?
A. Provide small group occupation-based activities
in an authoritarian environment with
clear expectations.
B. Begin with 1:1 occupation-based activities to
develop child’s social skills, then introduce
group activities.
C. Provide small group occupation-based activities
that encourage exploration and interaction.
D. Provide small group occupation-based activities
with rules to define acceptable play guidelines.

Behavioral FOR is more about modifying or enhancing behavior in order for skilled learning to occur. Such as setting explicit rules, clear structure, positive reinforcement, time-outs, cooperating with others, sharing, anticipating consequnces, tokens/rewards, behavior contracts, biofeedback to teach self-control, shaping, chaining, modeling, and desensitization.

Brandon, sorry for the delay. I am not being notified of messages left here. Yes CBT interventions include deep breathing, relaxation, and thought-challenging diary keeping. These can be used for those with anxiety.

Hello,

Reviewing the FOR and had a question about deep breathing techniques for an intervention. Would that be a CBT FOR approach? versus behavioral. I am pretty sure but just want to verify.

Hello I have a question, I keep trying to email but It will not let me. For the quizzes we are taking, is there a specific area we are able to see our results? I have taken the final mock exam twice and it keeps freezing every time I submit it so I am unable to see my results. Thanks.

Hi TMPOT studiers and Kim :),
I was just wondering if anyone could describe a visual of DBT and Eye Movement Desensitization and REprocessing. Are there any good videos that anyone knows of how has anyone had experience with these techniques in their fieldwork or clinical? I am just trying to picture the words from the literature /pdfs describing it into a mental image of the client and practitioners practicing these techniques. Any help is appreciated. Thanks, everyone 🙂
