ParticipantHi Kim & everyone,
Ive been finding the quizzes so helpful. Sometimes I get so stressed out from the wrong answers but I end up learning more! I have some questions regarding MET levels based on the cardio-pulmonary quiz. I noticed that for the quiz using a computer to shop for arts and crafts is recognized as no more than 1.5 met level however with OTexam prepper it is said that computer tasks are 2.0 met levels with R2D2 interfacing and using the computer while sitting in the shower. The explanation for the question makes complete sense but now I am worried that my met levels will be mixed up in my head. Is anyone having similar experiences with this quiz question in the thinking process? Also, has anyone encountered a question involving the stages of MET levels instead of the actual MET levels – do you think NBCOT could ask us about that too? Any input would be appreciated. Thanks yall!

ParticipantAlso, I forgot to add this in my original post^ on the cardiopulmonary quiz there was a question regarding ECT regarding what is the BEST technique to use during self-feeding. I noticed there were two answer choices that I was stuck between (the organizing of needed objects in one accessible cabinet, and allowing more time for the task). After doing the navigating questions part 1 with Kim this past Saturday 🙂 I think I got this answer wrong because I chose the choice that could be done during meal-prep and not during the task of self-feeding. I just wanted to check in with yall to make sure my thinking process is correct here on why I choose the wrong answer. Please let me know your thought!

KeymasterGreat question. One of the most annoying things about MET levels is the inconsistency between textbooks. In the textbook referenced they consider working at a computer 1.5. The acute care textbook states working at a computer is between 1.5-3.0. Which is vague. I have changed the answer to make it more clear.
I would be familiar with both since both are often mentioned. You just never know.
Yes, the literature considers self-feeding and eating and ADL and meal prep an IADL. So I would pay attention to the difference in questions.

ParticipantHello I have a question, I keep trying to email but It will not let me. For the quizzes we are taking, is there a specific area we are able to see our results? I have taken the final mock exam twice and it keeps freezing every time I submit it so I am unable to see my results. Thanks.
